Baby girl and a big piano - Philadelphia PA Newborn Photographer
I met Jie as a student in my prenatal class, and we ended up having a wonderful conversation about women's amazing potential for power and strength in birthing their babies. I was honored and thrilled to hear from her a few weeks later that our chat had so inspired her that she had achieved a completely natural birth and now had a beautiful baby girl. And even then, when she invited me to her home to document this precious time for her, I had no idea that when I walked in I would see a full piano in her living room! And so, like most of my newborn sessions, we spent some time in the bedroom, nursing, getting to know the newest member of the family, Norah. Dad got some time to marvel at his daughter's tiny fingers and toes, and this brand new family of three shared such a sweet connection. Grandma and Grandpa were visiting, and they were so completely in love with their granddaughter. Grandma kept joking that Norah looked so serious, but I suggested she was just so focused on taking everything in.And that's where normal baby session ended, as I was then treated to a private concert by an international pianist! Jie played the most beautiful music on that piano, often with only one hand as she held her sweet little girl in the other. The look on this baby's face, listening to her mother play, filled the room with so much warmth and joy, and gave me chills thinking about how much lovely music will be in this child's life. It just goes to show, you never really know a person's whole story, and how many amazing little details make up who they are. What makes your family special to you?
